May 17th Arrival
e all arrived at JFK around 6:00 a.m. today and finally made it to the hotel around 10:00 p.m. EST, ready for our first workday tomorrow. 2025 marks our 13th year, and we are fortunate to have over 40 participants joining us to provide care to those less fortunate.
We will be conducting a medical mission to remote villages in the Riobamba region of Ecuador, as well as a surgical mission—both of which begin tomorrow, Sunday. Breakfast is at 6:45 a.m., and then it’s off to the races!
We will be logging as much as we can daily so stay tuned!
All this would not be possible without everyone’s generous donations and your well wishes. We will endeavor to help as many as we can and make everyone proud.
Thank you FIBUSPAM and PACH for your partnership!
Day 1: May 18th
Super productive day! Medical Team went to San Andres, a small village outside of Riobamba in the Highlands of Ecuador. The team saw and treated 37 pediatric patients, 42 optometry, and 47 medical patients. How do we help? These are patients who do not have access to care.
A 4-year-old child had been suffering from abdominal discomfort, difficulty sleeping, nausea, distention, and severe anemia for 2-3 months…pinworms, diagnosed in 5 mins and 2 doses of anti-parasitics was all he needed. Without us, this child may have eventually have become disabled or severely developmentally delayed.
WIth your support, our team is able to make these incredible differences.
On day 1, after a morning of setting up the operating rooms, the surgical team performed 10 sight-restoring surgeries. I am convinced that our surgical team is the hardest working team ON THE PLANET!
Wish us continued luck and success.
